Hey everyone! It has been too long since I wrote a makeup blog, my bad. Recently, I have realised that a lot of girls are terrified to wear colours on their eyes. I don't get it. Makeup is all about being experimental and trying new things. So today, I have created a few coloured looks inspired by summer and hot weather. They are not all wearable, everyday looks but I'm sure there are girls that could rock these looks during the day or even just for fun. I just wanted to show that there is nothing to be afraid of when using colours. If you use complimentary colours to your eye colour, they can make your eyes pop and look even more gorgeous. To find complimentary colours to your eye colour always look at the colour wheel. Use the colours that are the opposite on the wheel to your colour. For example, I have green eyes so I use a lot of purples and reddish-burgandy colours as they make my eyes pop.
Look 1
I used my Coastal Scents Smokey palette for all of these looks. I actually wouldn't recommend this palette at all. The colours look gorgeous but when I used them on my eye the colour payoff was awful and that was with an eye primer! Anyway, I managed to just pile on the colour in order to get some payoff. Here I used a lilac purple in the middle of the lid and a lovely green on either side. I brought a darker purple on the lower lash line and smoked it out. I used Black liquid liner from Penneys and Rimmel Scandaleyes mascara. I love how the purple makes the green of my eye pop!
Look 2
I don't usually use pinks on my eyes as I personally don't like how they look on me but for the sake of this blog I decided to try it out and I actually like it! I used a turquoise all over the lid and on the lower lash line. I then applied this pink to the crease and slightly under the eye and smoked it out. I used a turquoise eye liner that I got from Avon ages ago and I am still obsessed with it. It goes perfectly with this look too. Mascara and eyeliner are the same as above!
Look 3
This is my favourite look. I love how it turned out. I didn't have a definite idea in my head for this look but I just started messing around with colours and BOOM! I used a purple on the lid and a pink in the crease and smoked it out. I used this gorgeous yellow on the lower lash line and a blueish-green on the inner corner. I had to add some lashed to this look because of how dramatic it is. The whole look definitely pops more with lashes and the yellow colour pics up the yellow pigment in my eye. I used a brow gel from Essence if you're wondering why my eyebrows look pretty moist! I probably should have let it dry before taking the pic...
So that's everything, I hope you liked the looks and try to experiment with some of them yourselves. Don't be afraid of colours. The worst that could happen is having to take the makeup off and start again. Be grand! Enjoy the bank holiday weekend.
