Hi everyone,
I have been so busy lately and haven't had a chance to write a blog. Sorry it has been a life time! A lot of my friends have been asking me how to cream contour and highlight so I thought that I would write a blog post on it. I haven't really done much of it on my own face purely because I have really sensitive skin and don't like using heavy makeup. I have ,however, used this technique on a few friends and absolutely loved the results! Cream contouring and highlighting is a great way to create flawless skin. They key is to blend!

This is my good Friend Laura. HI LAURA!!! I used a very pale concealer to highlight the forehead, nose, under eye area, cupids bow and chin. Highlighting attracts light to that part of the face and contouring draws the light away. So basically if you want something to stand out on the face you highlight and if you want something to be minimized you contour. I also put the brighter concealer on the jaw line. You can use a lighter foundation for this either or a pan stick works great too. I then used a dark concealer around the perimeter of the face and jaw line and under the cheek bones.
When you have the face mapped out with the dark and light shades, it's time to add the foundation. The key is to only use a very small amount of foundation and BLEND! I can't stress how important it is to blend. Nobody wants lines left on their face. You only use a small amount of foundation because you don't want to cover the contour and highlight that you have just applied. Add more foundation as you see fit. In the pictures above you can see the points of the face that have been highlighted under the foundation i.e the forehead, under eyes, nose, cupids bow and chin. You can see how the dark concealer gives a lovely 'carved' affect. Look at those cheek bones, Laura!!
This is Laura's final look. After I finished with the foundation, I went in with a bronzer and warmed up the face again and contoured the cheek bones a little more just to add some extra dimension and to make the look more extreme as this was for colour photographical and the camera makes you lose colour intensity.
I hope you all found this helpful. Cream contouring takes a little practice but it is way easier than it looks. Just want to say THANKS LAURA for lending me your face :) I won't leave it so long until my next blog, promise...
