It's that time of year again when we celebrate how great our mothers are and show them how much we appreciate them. Obviously we really should do this everyday but we all know how life gets in the way sometimes and we take for granted the people that we really shouldn't, especially our Mams. My Mam is a total legend and I'm glad that she decided to partake in my blog. My Mam barely ever wears makeup and she has such gorgeous skin. I wanted to give her a subtle look that she would be comfortable with.
This is my lovely Mam Mary, without any makeup on whatsoever. Mam had told me that she hated the discoloration in her skin. She had some redness and dark spots that she wanted covered. She also wanted her brows slightly more defined.
I started out using Catrice's 'Prime and Fine' all over the skin. I then used CC cream from Essence in the colour 'Natural' all over the face. Mam has great skin and doesn't like the heavy feeling that foundation can have on her skin so I only used the CC cream. This is a great coverage CC cream and really does correct the skin tone. I slightly defined the eyebrows using a grey eyeliner pencil from Rimmel and blended it in with my finger. I used Bourjois chocolate bronzer on the perimeter of the face and slight contouring on the nose.
For the eyes, I used the Smashbox 'Wonder Vision Mega Palette'. I used 'Chestnut' which is a matte peachy-brown colour all over the lid. I then used 'Violet' on the lash line and blended it up into the lid in order to give a more subtle hint of colour. I then used the grey Rimmel eyeliner pencil on the upper and lower lash lines and blended it in. I used mascara from Penneys as it gives a light coverage and has a small wand which is perfect for smaller lashes. I used the colour 'Beige' which is a matte beige, under the brow bone. I used Elf's Studio High Definition powder all over the skin. I then used the blush 'Sherbet' From the Smashbox palette on the apples of the cheeks for a natural flush of colour. I used a lip pencil from Elizabeth Arden in the colour 'Plumrose' on the lip line and gently smudged the colour into the lips for a natural look. I then put a tiny amount of a peachy-pink gloss from essence (the name rubbed off, sorry..) all over the lips for a slight shine.
So that's the end of my Mother's Day Blog. My Mam loved her makeup look and I hope you all enjoyed it too. Make sure you all spoil your Mams and Nana's this Mother's Day, and every other day too. This blog is dedicated to my Mam. HAPPY MAM'S DAY MAM!! :)
