Saint Patrick's Day has always been one of my favourite times of the year. As a child going into town to see the parade was so exciting. Dressed in green from head to toe, sitting on my Dad's shoulders trying to peek through the crowd at all the stunning performers are memories that I will never forget. Paddy's Day was also a good pay day for me as I was a dancer and performed in an Irish dancing troupe in Blanchardstown Centre. There are many reasons why I love Paddy's Day. I have decided to create some eye makeup looks using Paddy's Day as my inspiration. Take a look...
The star of this eye makeup look is Barry M's Dazzle Dust which is all over the lid and on the inner corner. I love this minty green colour and this pigment is so easy to use. I used a matte brown colour from the Vice 2 palette called 'Rewind'. The liquid eyeliner and false lashes are from Penneys. I never used a double wing with liquid liner before but I love the effect of it with this look!
I didn't want to just use greens for these looks because that would get too boring, so I chose this goldy orange colour called 'Orange'from the Smashbox Wonder Vision Mega palette. I used this colour all over the lid making sure to blend it well in the crease. On top of that colour I used 'Junkie' by Urban Decay. 'Junkie' is a pretty true green but on my eyelid it comes out more blue for some reason. I only used 'Junkie' in the middle of the eyelid and under the eye. My eyelashes and liquid eyeliner are again from Penneys. Penney's best whaaaa..
I love smokey eyes in general but this green smokey eye is one of my favourites! I used 'Damaged' from the Vice 2 palette and blended it into the crease with the help of 'Almond' from Smashbox. I then used 'Strike' from the Vice 2 palette on the inner corner. This is such a simple look but it is also extremely striking and effective. I used black eyeliner from Avon on the water line.
This makeup was inspired by Newgrange. I always remember getting my face painted as a child at the parade so that was another inspiration for me with this look. I wanted to create an 'in your face' and 'fun' look. I got this green eye shadow years ago and I always used it as my stage makeup when I was dancing. Unfortunately, I have no idea where I got this from because it was ages ago and there is no brand name on the product. Any shimmer green eye shadow would do for this though. I used Star Gazer orange glitter all over my lid. I used liquid eyeliner from Penneys for the design and Penney's lashes too.
That completes my Paddy's Day inspired eye makeup looks. I hope you enjoyed them and again let me know if you try any. I hope you all have an amazing Paddy's Day. Enjoy it!
